Recently as most of you know,
I invited TKC kit car magazine over to do an article on my new RS200 kit car, the Rally replica's 200. The article was pretty good, the pics were great and Willy got to have his car featured in yet another magazine!
My intention is to offer a build service providing a part built RS200 replica kit car based on the very suitable and sporty Mid engined MR2 16 valve Turbo.
Well things dont stand still for too long, I have decided to concentrate on building another rally replica from the group B era, its another one of my all time favorites, the mid engined Peugeot 205 Turbo 16. The T16 will also have the lift up rear bodywork, wide arches, grills and vents as per the real car etc and will also be based on the mid engined Mr2 tubby platform.
You never know, it may get a feature too?

Rally Replica's
Good luck with your new project,Mike...it sounds great! I also love the T16 and think that it's one of the prettiest Group B cars.
I did see an advert for a replica Delta S4 a while ago,and quickly got in touch with the chap who was planning to build them. The advert stated that the bodywork would be reproduced from the original moulds but, sadly, the project seemingly never got off the drawing board. I don't think the original moulds were available after all,and that'd be a very difficult body to replicate without them!
Best wishes as always, and please keep us up to date with progress.

I have also been asked if I could build a car that might interest you, a full on mid engined "look a like" 6R4 replica
(2 requests so far) can you guess what that will be based on!
I did some planning and a lot of measuring up, so that one may be next after the T16 is finished.
I also had some thoughts on the S4, although as you've said above it wont be that easy as copying would have to be from a genuine car and no one would allow that!, But I've considered the 037 several times, The main reason is because full replica body shells are available.

Hiya Mike,
6R4 replicas always interest me,and I'd particularly like to see (and own!) a replica of the early prototype 6R4...the one with the slightly narrower wheel arch extensions, flat bonnet and no front or rear aerofoils. I helped to negotiate the loan of A656 NJO (6R4 No.001) from the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon for last year's Sunseeker Rally display and I fell in love with the look all over again. In an ideal world,I'd like to build a V62V-engined Metro but genuine 6R4 shells are becoming very, very rare now (I was offered one for £3000 about 2 years ago and really regret not snapping the guy's hand off!) so a scratch-built replica would be an ideal solution. The MR2 would no doubt provide a reliable but exhillarating base for any replica so I'll be interested to see how the T16 project progresses.
All the best,
Gary

Hi Mike,
Thanks for sharing the news and best of luck with the T16 project... Keep us posted on the progress, I'm sure lots of rs200 readers will be interested on how it goes on... They can only be loved by any Group B enthusiast, after all they won the last two championships which hosted Group B cars...
I went to a meet of T16's last year... Here is a pic of my Escort next to one:
I have lots of other pics of T16' s so if you need anything let me know.
Gary, regarding the body panels for the Delta S4, Bruno Ianniello (swiss hill climb champion) has all the original molds to reproduce the body panels... I'm sure he could supply parts if anyone would be interested. I inquired about renting one of his racing S4's (he has 4 chassis for racing and 2 road cars) a while back and he was even able to give me the costs of each body panel in case of a crash.

Hi Klaus,
You found a great parking space there!
Thanks for the info and support, I have been watching Brunno on You Tube - he can certainly drive!
I would love to get hold of some genuine used or damaged T16 panels, I noticed that a genuine car was rolled whilst out with "Slowley sideways" at a group B rally display (on You Tube). This would save me some work.
The offer of photos is very kind, I will ask for some in due course.

Yep Bruno is certainly a hero over here... I attended as many hill climb races as I could last summer to watch him and the S4... He is extremely popular... Have loads of photos, maybe I'll make a post someday with some.
Just let me know for other T16 photos...
Here are a couple more:

By the way, there is also an Owners Club on the Internet: http://www.club205turbo16.com/
They organize about 2 outings every year, that is how I came to know about their meet...

Great info and superb pics Klaus...many thanks!!
I'd also seen some clips of Bruno Ianniello on You Tube but never thought he'd have the genuine body moulds for the S4. Looking at his website,he certainly has a great selection of Deltas.
Thanks again for the T16 piccies...just wonderful, and the Escort Cosworth looks rather delightful, too!
All the best,
Gary
