I don't know much about the early days of this car but from an old owners club letter I believe the car was originally in the ownership of J P Young from Berks, UK.
In June 2004 an enthusiast, William Arnold, sent me a some images for the database, they were taken at Castle Combe in 1996 when a 200 had a little crash, you can see it is F32UPC which, according to the clipping from the back of Classic and Sports Car June 1986, makes it car #151. Rumours were that is was for sale whilst at CC above and being driven by them... ouch... expensive.
From doing some digging I believe the car once had the index numbers F993MJN which was changed on 3/4/1991.
I was given an old newpaper clipping from OAKFIELDS when the car was for sale @ £100,000
From looking at some public data systems I have read:
Make: FORD
Model: RS 200 4WD
Transmission & fuel type: PETROL
Body type: 2 DOOR SALOON
Engine no.: GL00151
Colour: WHITE
Engine capacity: 1803cc
First registered: 12/04/1989
Year of manufacture: 1989
It also states that there have been 3 previous keepers, the last changing on 1/8/1992 - Sadly I have no idea where the car is now
In June 2010 (IS) sent me an email saying he had found an old advert in Autosport dated 5th December 1991 that read...
"Car 151 - 89/F Rallysport spec. 380bhp motorsport colours, speedline alloys, lamp pod £79995"
If you find out anything else about this car please drop me an email and I'll update the cars entry !
