Sadly car #063 is one we all know too much about as it was a works car that was driven by Marc Surer which had a very big accident and was written off.

This is the tragic accident that took the life of Michel Wyder on 31st May 1986 at the Hessen Rally - Very sad, a timely reminder and perhaps testament to Michel and all drivers and co-drivers who entertain us by taking these risks in the pursuit of performance.

In Jan 2016 Christian Heiseler sent me this image as I was hoping someone might have a decent image of the car and it's occupants at the start of the rally.

A check on the public data systems shows the car to bear the full chassis number of SFACXXBJ2CGL00063 still be registered to it's first keeper and gives the following information:-

Make: FORD
Model: RS 200 4WD
Transmission & fuel type: PETROL
Body type: COUPE
Engine no. GL00063
Colour: White
First Registered: 29/1/1986
Year of Manufacture: 1986

A FORD document dated 30/6/1989 confirms this car as being in a list of cars "written off" - See the FAQ "How many were made ?" section for more info. In that document the car is shown as being LHD.

And in one of the original club magazines you can see the extensive damage to the car after the crash.
