About the start of July, after pressure washing the underside, we put the car up on stands and removed the 4 Drive Shafts. No trouble with the rear's but a bit of a struggle on the fronts due to them being retained with a mixture of Metric & English cap screws. The Drive Shafts went to Dave Mac Propshafts in Coventry for re-furb with all new boots. The brakes were removed cleaned and checked, everything was ok. here (these are larger diameter uprated about 3000 miles ago). The Turbo was next and went to Turbo Technics for checking who confirmed it was in excellent condition with all the best bits. As the Turbo support was removed it was easy to have a look at the Cam followers, (4 absolutely shot), so with this and the fact we had some oil leaks it was decided to remove the Engine. To make it easier for us we removed the rear clam shell, all of the rear suspension and spare wheel carrier, exhaust, oil tank, water de-gas tank and all of the rear roll/support bars. (more on all of this shortly as I do not want to bore straight you away).
