I know of the owner of Chassis 76 purchased from Steve Hirst.
It was not sold the last time in 2009.
You can see UK cars in the background of the lower pictures on the other site, the RS200 has no engine in it.
The person obtain pictures of the car and used them in the previous forsale add.
This is chassis 76 which was restored by Steve Stripe and has never left the UK since returning from Norway.

I know Steve... There was a very extensive debate about this chassis number as you probably know already which ultimately led the "other" site to be created essentially stealing most of the material that came from RS200.org and changing a few items that suited the seller of the "076" here. Clearly a bitsa car.

I have personally seen this car in France and can confirm that it has NO official chassis number stamped in the usual place (as most cars built using spare tubs), but claiming it's a genuine Evo is really stretching it and a completely false claim as it just is not. As for the rallycross history...

That is the reason I use the word chassis.
The ownerI knew was aware of what is going on and has has several heated discussions with the person proclaiming to own chassis 76.
He also knows most of the history including that it has had several tubs and that it was never a factory built numbered evo.
The car was used at Snetterton and the Rally Car Day at Castle Combe some years ago.
How recently did you see the car in France ?

Definitely chassis 76 not the ex-Pekka Rantanen chassis 98 which has been restored ?
Chassis 76 had centre lock wheels on it last time I saw it.

Yep this is the car... It had the 18 inch wheels with center lock and non standard black/blue seats. It was also missing the RS200 graphics on the back and I also noted it had some polished metal parts like the front brace (the bar that goes across the top of the shocks at the front) not to the best taste IMO. No VIN plate either.

I was being emailed images of "one of" the #076 cars (if indeed there is another one in the UK) last year and earlier this year when it seemed to be at venues in France and Spain.

To go with the lack of stamped number on the tub it seemed in the images that I was sent to have a homemade VIN plate on it.

Here is an image of the car in France last summer...

... and then in Spain ...
